WHAT you see should not be envolved with the vision only. Or else, u can't call the work you're seeing, ART.
ART is not colors, mixed up with textures made by someone's various techniques! A true artist, does ALL that but has the POTENTIAL to put senstaions into his work, what he feels, what he wants the people to feel, and that's how his message is recieved by the public.
We all learned in schools that humans have 5 senses.. and there are many experiences in life that stimulate these senses, such as powerful speeches, love touches, beautiful scenes, pleasant tastes, sweet smells; the source is always human or at least human imagination or fantacies. Humans are DIRECTLY envolved in this game of give and take except in ART.
The message given thru the piece of art, by the artist himself, are vibes of natural senses, that we, the people recieve, as if the artist was present and communicating his message to us, and that's when the piece has left a remarquable impression on us. That's what I call ART, an object that can stimulate ur senses, when the artist can't communicate the precise message because he's absent..
So i think MICHELANGELO's pieces are ART because my culture had taught me to sense and appreciate his work even though he's absent.
